Grew up playing tennis, use classic and modern strokes, all grips and swings. 4.0 -4.5 range. Still student of the game. Older now but still prefer the wide open feel of singles play - (don't have to deal with that rushed feeling when returning past that net person on the other side.). For social reasons I do play doubles more than singles and enjoy both. We have amazing views from our local courts in Mount Shasta City. I like to play tennis out of town when traveling for skiing and other sports.
